Veterans Organic Garden accepts payment by donation, credit card and SNAP.

Right now we have green beans, onions, garlic and lettuce. Tomatoes and potatoes are right around the corner. If you like herbs we also have basil, rosemary, sage and oregano.

In order for the produce to be organic, it is necessary to grow the plants naturally without commercial petrochemical pesticides or other artificial amendments. The use of such materials as the minor elements — iron, boron, magnesium and manganese — required for growth, should not be excluded. Likewise, organic insecticides such as rotenone or pyrethrum derived from Oriental Chrysanthemum are permissible. Dormant horticultural oil with lime sulphur is regularly used by orchardists in late winter for scale. Bacilis thuringiensis causes a bacterial disease that kills off caterpillars.

The sweet potatoes are going in soon!
